Huts available for booking on Eräluvat.fi for 2025

Shared rental huts and rental huts have been bookable for 2025 since Tuesday, November 26, on Eräluvat.fi. Some huts in popular hiking destinations have been more sought after than others. For example, huts along the Nordkalott Trail and in the Käsivarsi Wilderness Area are already fully booked for the coming late winter season. However, there is still plenty to choose from, as Metsähallitus offers approximately 150 shared rental huts and rental huts across Finland.

Metsähallitus’ booking calendars for 2025 were launched in a new online store on the last Tuesday of November, November 26. The new service has been well received. The website has been designed to be more user-friendly, making it easier for customers to compare huts and find one that suits their needs.

Huts for every taste

For hikers in Lapland, the Rautulampi shared rental hut on the UKK Trail or the Avviljoga Kultala / Ivalojoki Kultala Rental hut are good options. For an overnight trip, you can rest comfortably in the Ikolanaho rental hut on the Herajärvi Trail in Koli or the Ahinmaja rental hut in the Sanginjoki Nature Reserve. For those who enjoy island life, the rental huts on Ärjänsaari in Lake Oulujärvi, Gåshällan rental hut in the Kvarken Archipelago, or the Selkä-Sarvi rental hut in the Bothnian Bay National Park are great choices.

Inside the wooden building, there are loft beds, a kitchen, and a stove.

With the new online store, descriptions of huts, as well as other bookable facilities such as saunas and cooking shelters, have moved to Eräluvat.fi. In shared rental huts, you book a bed, whereas rental huts can be reserved for private use. The level of amenities in the huts varies. Most lack electricity, some include saunas, and many can only be reached on foot or skis.

In addition to paid bookable huts, Metsähallitus offers free open wilderness huts and day-use huts for hikers. These are intended for independent trekkers and are still presented on the Nationalparks.fi website and the new Luontoon service.

Bookings for the end of 2024 could only be made until November 18, 2024. Cabin sales for 2025 opened on November 26.
