What can one do in Kivitunturi?
Walk on Marked Trails
The Kivitunturi Nature Trail provides a wide-ranging glimpse into the nature of Eastern Lapland. Information boards along the trail present information on the geological history and nature of the area. There is a short trail (5,9 km) and a long trail (9,5 km) to choose from.

See the Sights and Scenery
Pirunkuru and Kivikuru are quartizite bedrock ravines formed in fracture zones. The Kivitunturi Nature Trail crosses the bridge over Pirunkuru ravine and descends to the bottom of the Kivikuru ravine. The Kettukumpu scenic viewpoint offers a beautiful view of Vasatunturi Fell. On a clear day, the summits of Pyhätunturi can be seen 50 kilometres away. The Sotsonportti scenic viewpoint also offers an outstanding view of the surrounding landscape.
Roughly a 15 minute drive from Kivitunturi is the Wilderness estate of Tarkkala (www.korvatunturi.fi), which is a cultural-historically important homestead preserved from the time of the Lapland War and an example of Finnish wilderness life from years past. Visitors are welcome to explore the site on their own.
