The boating base is located at the northern tip of Kärppäsaari Island, to the south of Lake Inari's Varttasaari Island.
The boating base is suitable for use in winter too.

Facilities
A water bucket, a wood-burning stove and a cas cooker in the campfire hut. A covered outdoor cooking shelter with a gas cooker. A pier, a dry toilet, a firewood shelter and a campfire site.
Notices
Pets are permitted in the campfire hut, but only if other visitors consent to it. There is a open wilderness hut nearby.
There is a recycling point at the wilderness hut, but hikers are asked to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
