Type

Open wilderness hut for 17 persons.

The left side of the cabin has been locked indefinitely for 8 people due to a cracked fireproof panel. Urgent attention and repair are required as the damaged fireproof panel poses safety risks.

Location

Northern Lapland Region, Municipality of Inari, Lemmenjoki National Park.

The wilderness hut is situated on the west bank of the River Lemmenjoki about 600 m northeast of Ravadasköngäs Falls.

This log cabin is suited for winter use and has two rooms. It was built in 1971.

Facilities

  • A wood-burning stove and a gas cooker in both rooms.
  • A pier, but no official swimming spot.

Notices

  • Pets are permitted in the hut, but only if other visitors consent to it.
  • Safety on hiking.
  • There is a recycling point at the wilderness hut, but hikers are asked to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
