Gorsastohpu / Korsatupa, Open Wilderness Hut

There are wooden bunk beds on the right side of the log cabin. The bed have mattresses on them. There is a small table in front of the window and benches around it. Next to the window, there is a red fire extinguisher blanket hanging on the wall.

There is an open fireplace in the corner of the log-cabin. From the open door, you can see the summer landscape and the woodshed outside. There hangs a fire extinguisher on the wall next to the door.

Korsatupa is located near the crossing where borders of Enontekiö, Inari and Kittilä municipalities meet, 1 km southeast from the southern part of Lake Korsajärvi by a stream.

Facilities

A fireplace and a sauna. Essential cookware. Sleeping platforms. A woodshed and a dry toilet outside the hut.

Notices

Pets are permitted in the hut, but only in case that other visitors agree with it.

Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper.

Waste Management

Metsähallitus follows the principles of litter-free hiking. Visitors are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Recycling points can be found at Yllästunturi, Pallastunturi and Fell Lapland Visitor Centre. Read more about Hiking without littering.
