Campfire hut, 50m², room for 25–30 persons. Space on the floor and benches for about 10 people to stay overnight.

Karhulahti rental campfire hut is locating in a beautiful place on the top of the small hill and close to Repovesi lake, one kilometre from Olhava hill. Kaakkurinkierros hiking trail pass close the hut. A spacious campfire hut is suitable for accommodating small groups or serving as a base camp for larger groups. The yard, enclosed by fences, features its own campfire site and is exclusively for the use of renters.

Keys

Keys to the fireplace hut are placed in the key box next to the door of the hut. A 4-digit key combination for opening the key box will be sent to you attached to your reservation confirmation. Leave the keys in the same key box when you leave after your stay.
Please note that the door will be get locked automatically. It’s recommended to keep the key in the key box.

By Hiking

The Kaakkurinkierros hiking trail pass nearby the campfire hut. Kaakkurinkierros can be started from any parking area of National Park.

By Public Transport

By Car

There is about 4 kilometers from the nearest parking area, Saarijärvi. There’s no road access with any motor vehicle to the Karhulahti kota.
Saarijärvi parking area, Kuismantie 990, Kouvola (Road 368). Space for approximately 60 cars. During the winter maintenance period, the parking area is smaller.

Facilities

Stove (for cooking and heating).
Broad benches by the walls, wooden floor.
Coffee and tea pots.
One big and one small kettle (separate kettles for indoor and outdoor use).
A wood-shed (locked), some cut firewood and an axe.
Own yard defined by fences.
An accessible outhouse (non-compostable), please bring own toilet paper.
A fireplace with benches on the yard.
Nearest drinking water well is located 1 km away at Olhava district.

Notices

There is no electricity or lightning.
Dishwashing liquid, spices, candles, fire-making equipment and toilet paper are not included.
Please note that it takes plenty of time and wood before the hut is properly warm in winter. Stove also cools down quickly.
The hut must always be cleaned after use.
Dogs and other pets are welcome to this campfire hut. Always keep your pets on leash in national parks.

Smoking is prohibited in the hut.

There are no waste-bins or recycling points in the park or parking areas. Make sure you leave no litter or other traces of your visit.
Biodegradable waste can not be placed into the chemical toilets.
Small amounts of clean paper and cardboard can be used as kindling in a campfire. Take all other waste out of the area.

Lighting campfires is prohibited if the wildfire warning is in effect.

There is a public campfire spot near the grounds. Karhulahti is also a popular camping site.

It is recommended to keep the mobile phone warm and to bring extra food and water with you. There are many excursion locations with no mobile coverage and some mobile phones does not work in sub-zero temperatures, that is why it is always a good idea to let someone know about your itinerary and timetable.
