Kuivajärvi Rental Hut
NOTICE! The composter at the Kuivajärvi rental hut has been destroyed in a fire. Metsähallitus is aware of the situation. The rental hut and other buildings are in good condition and safe to use.
No more reservations can be made for 2024. Exceptionally, reservations for 2025 will only open on 26 November 2024 at 9 a.m. at Eraluvat.fi
This round-log hut is located on the shores of Lake Kuivajärvi in the old-growth forest reserve at Etelä-Sydänmaa, Reisjärvi, by the Peuran polku hiking trail.

Terms of reservation for the Kuivajärvi rental hut
Location
North Ostrobothnia, Reisjärvi, Etelä-Sydänmaa nature reserve, old-growth forest reserve, Peuran polku hiking trail (finnish and swedish only).
By car
Kuivajärvi parking area, Kuivajärventie 700, Reisjärvi. Winter maintenance up to Kuivajärvi parking area.

Keys
Keys for the Kuivajärvi rental hut are available in the lock box located next to the door of the hut. You'll receive the code by email after paying for the reservation.
Facilities
Heating and light
Wood stove heating. Please note that it takes some time before the hut is properly warm. No electricity. Gaslight, fire extinguisher and a fire blanket.
Cooking
A gas cooker and oven, tableware and kitchen utensils.
Drinking water
You must bring your own drinking water, use the water from the lake only for bathing and washing the dishes.
Sleeping
Two bunk beds and one regular bed, mattresses, pillows, blankets. Bring your own bedsheets.
Sauna
Wood heated sauna in the same building.
Toilet
An outhouse. Bring your own toilet paper.
Waste management
There is no waste management. Please do not leave any litter or other traces of your stay. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
Notice
- Outside there is a campfire site, a table and benches, a woodshed, a dry toilet and a doghouse are available at the yard. There is a jetty and a boat on the shore. The shore is rather deep and muddy. It is easy to go swimming from the jetty.
- No pets allowed inside the hut. There is a fenced enclosure for dogs outside the hut.
- Mobile phone coverage is poor in the area. You may experience breaks in the signal. If this happens try to climb to a higher place or go into an open area.
