Pallaskota, a rental campfire hut, is located amidst mountain birches at the foot of the Pallaskero and Palkaskero summits at a distance of less than one kilometre from the Pallastunturi Visitor Centre.  This rental campfire hut offers peace and quiet to groups if they wish to make coffee over the fire while taking a rest break at the foot of the fell. Pallaskota Hut is for day use only, not for overnight stays. Next to Pallaskota Hut, there is a campfire site and an open campfire hut.

Pallaskota, a rental campfire hut, is located amidst mountain birches at the foot of the Pallaskero and Palkaskero summits at a distance of less than one kilometre from the Pallastunturi Visitor Centre.

A trail named Orava-Avenue ("Squirrel Avenue") branches off from Pallastunturi Road. There are environmental artworks along this trail, which continues as the Palkaskeron kierros Circle Trail onto the Palkaskero summit. The Pallaskota crossroads is situated at a distance of 0.5 km from the main road, and Pallaskota is located along the trail leading to Lake Pallasjärvi.

Pallaskota rental campfire hut offers peace and quiet to groups regardless of whether they wish to make coffee in the coffeepot over the fire while taking a rest break or have a small-scale festive occasion at the foot of the fell.

Next to Pallaskota, there is a campfire site and an open campfire hut that hikers may use freely for taking a rest break and making a campfire.

Keys can be picked up from Pallastunturi Visitor Centre.

Facilities

An open fireplace, a dry toilet in the immediate vicinity of Pallaskota, an accessible dry toilet. Pallaskota has been made accessible to all. There are coffee pots for making coffee on the fire, but tenants must bring their own cups and other dishes. Take also your own toilet paper.

Pets are not permitted in the hut.

Safety on hiking

Directions and Public Transportation

The walking distance from the Pallastunturi Visitor Centre to Pallaskota is less than one kilometre.
The Rovaniemi - Kittilä - Jerisjärvi - Muonio coach service runs daily, and connecting transport may also be booked from Jerisjärvi to Pallastunturi Fell.

More information on scheduled coaches (matkahuolto.fi). During the high seasons, there is a bus or taxi service (reservable in advance) from Kittilä Airport via Hotel Jeris and Olos to Muonio. Connecting transport may also be booked from Jerisjärvi to Pallastunturi Fell.

Maintenance and Management

There is no waste management services at the hut. The goal of the National Park is to be a litter-free area and hikers are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Recycling points can be found at Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas, Pallastunturi Visitor Centre and Fell Lapland Visitor Centre. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
