Nammalakuru Reservable Wilderness Hut

The hut is located on an open fell in the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. The hut offers panoramic views of the beautiful landscape. The reservable hut is suitable for people hiking and skiing in the park, who appreciate sleeping in a bed and who are comfortable spending time with strangers. The most popular times are Easter and during the autumn colours (Ruska).

The wilderness hut is situated by the Hetta-Pallas Trail, 42 km from Hetta and 13 km from Pallas.

Price and Keys

16,50€ / night / person (incl. VAT 10%).

When booking, you will receive a code for the hut's key box.

Facilities

A stove, a gas cooker, a dry toilet and a wood shed. Basic cookware (pot, frying pan, coffee pot). There is no spoons, forks or other cutlery in the hut. Bunk beds with mattresses, pillows and blankets. NB! Please, take your own sheets and pillowcase to protect your bedding.

Notices

Please note that it takes some time before the hut is properly warm.

The peak seasons for this hut are Easter holidays and the autumn´s ruska season.

Pets are not permitted in the hut.

The building also houses an open wilderness hut for 20 persons.

Visitors must come prepared with warm clothing, food, drink, maps, compass, orienteering skills and matches. Fog or storms can form in just a few hours. Take also your own toilet paper.

Safety on hiking

Waste Management

There are no waste management services at the hut. The goal of the National Park is to be a litter-free area and hikers are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Recycling points can be found at Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas, Pallastunturi Visitor Centre and Fell Lapland Visitor Centre. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
