Puoiduusuálui / Kärppätupa Open Wilderness Hut

Inarijärvi Kärppäsaari, coordinates: Euref-Fin (~ WGS84) lat: 68° 59.1158' lon: 27° 55.1846'  ETRS-TM35FIN: N: 7652994 E: 536807.

The hut is located at the northern tip of Kärppäsaari Island, to the south of Lake Inari's Varttasaari Island.

The hut is in good condition and suitable for use in winter.

Facilities

A wood-burning stove and a gas cooker.

Notices

  • Pets are permitted in the hut, but only if other visitors consent to it.
  • There is a campfire shelter with a fireplace nearby.
  • A pier, but no official swimming spot.
  • Safety on hiking.
  • There is a recycling point at the wilderness hut, but hikers are asked to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
