The open wilderness hut is located by Lake Tiilikka about midway along the southern shore of Pohjoisniemi headland which stretches far into the lake.

Facilities

Iron stove and separate bunks for 2 people.

Notices

The dry toilet is about 90 metres away from the hut.

The campfire site and camping site are about 120 metres away from the hut.

There is no water supply in the area. Surface water, for example from streams, should be boiled before drinking, as water quality varies between different areas.

Pets are allowed in the hut.

Safety on hiking

At winter, the road to the Pohjoisniemi trailhead from main road no. 87 is not ploughed, but space for a few cars is cleared at the intersection. Visitors can ski along the roadway to the park from here.

Waste Management

There are no waste bins at the hut, so we ask that visitors bring their own litter out of the area. Read more about hiking without littering.
