The open wilderness hut is situated on the east bank of the River Sotajoki about 350 m from the River Ivalojoki.

The wilderness hut was named after Toivo Liljeqvist, an engineer from Lahti. He was the head of a group who were gold prospectors at the River Ivalojoki.

Notices

  • Pets are allowed in the hut, but only if other visitors consent to it.
  • The wilderness hut is in use from the beginning of June to the end of September.
  • Safety on hiking.
  • There are no waste bins at the hut and visitors are asked to take their own waste out of the wilderness area. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
