Stuorrávži Open Wilderness Hut (so called Stuorraäytsi)
Type
Open wilderness hut for 7 persons.
Location
Northern Lapland, Utsjoki region, Muotkatunturi Wilderness Area.
Stuorrávži, coordinates: Euref-Fin (~ WGS84) lat: 69° 14.1531' lon: 26° 02.5825' ETRS-TM35FIN: N: 7680960 E: 462138.
The hut is located at the western end of the Stuorrâävži ravine, about 800 metres west of the farthest headwater pond of the Stuorrâävži brook.
The hut is suitable for winter use.
Facilities
- A wood-burning stove and a gas cooker.
Notices
- Pets are allowed in the hut, but only with the consent of the other visitors.
- Safety on hiking.
- There are bins for mixed waste at the hut, but hikers are asked to bring their own waste to one of the area's recycling points. Read more about Hiking Without Littering.
