Aikkipetsi Open Wilderness Hut (so called Aihkipetsi)

Location, Maps and Description
Near the Salla National Park, along the UKK Trail.
Aikkipetsi Open Wilderness hut is a former day-use hut located in the southern part of Salla, north of the forest road to Vilma, on the shore of Kalliolampi Pond. The hut is located along the UKK Trail or the Aikkipetsi round trail. In winter you can access the hut on skis via a wilderness track from the direction of Ruuhitunturi Fell. The hut is around 15 km away from Sallatunturi resort.

Facilities
- Heating: a wood stove. Please note it will take time for the hut to warm up.
- Cooking: a gas cooker and basic cooking pots. Bring your own tableware and utensils.
- Sleeping: Four beds (in two bunk beds). No mattresses. Bring your own sleeping pad and sleeping bag.
- Water: water can be taken from the Kalliolampi Pond next to the hut (boil before use).
- Other facilities: There is a campfire site, a wood shed and a dry toilet in the yard (bring your own toilet paper).
Notices
- Pets are allowed in the hut, but only with the consent of the other users of the hut.
- Bring a head torch or a flashlight with you.
- Bring your own first-aid kit.
- Tidy up the hut after you and leave some firewood and kindling for the next guests.
